Prayer for Renewed Faith and Hope : "Dear God, I come before You with a heavy heart, seeking a renewal of my faith and hope. Help me to see the possibilities that lie ahead and trust in Your divine purpose for my life. May Your hope shine brightly in my heart and guide my steps. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen." The message, released by the Vatican Feb. 12, focuses on Lent as "a time for renewing faith, hope and love" through the traditional practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. And, by going to Faith, then, is just as important as the air we breathe. While the oxygen in the air nourishes the body, faith nourishes the heart and the soul. It’s the energy that courses through every single fiber and cell within our beings. It’s part of every muscle and every strand of thought. It is the fundamental foundation of our existence. Hope fastens on future happiness, and waits for that; but in heaven, faith will be swallowed up in actual sight, and hope in enjoyment. There is no room to believe and hope, when we see and enjoy. But there, love will be made perfect. There we shall perfectly love God. And there we shall perfectly love one another. In conclusion, when reading through Scripture, we find that having faith in Christ is the initial step in salvation for a person; however, love and hope are directly a part of having faith. Albeit, in our eternal home, faith will become sight, and hope will be realized so the one that will remain is the greatest of the three—love. Today’s Faith and hope are incredibly important, but love is greater than both! Very few things last forever, our possessions are not permanent, they can be taken away, lost, broken, or destroyed. Only faith, hope, and love remain. However, even faith and hope will one day pass away. We won’t need faith (believing in what we can’t see) or hope .
